APPEARANCE Akiko is at an average (for a Japanese woman) height of five foot two inches tall with a petite frame with her weight at roughly 115lbs. Her skin is somewhat pale, nearly porcelain hued. Her hair is a dark, dark hue of walnut brown that in some lights looks black, other lights looks light brown. Her mouth is small, with soft pink lips and a pert, pointy nose that sits dead center on her oval shaped face. Her eyes are a beautiful tawny hue that in certain lights look a little more red than the brown they are, or at times even orange. Her form is lithe and elegant, and her breasts are a B-cup size. On the left (or sometimes right) of her head, she wears a red silk flower hairpin to add a little bit to her outfit. Her attire is that of a plum purple military-type jacket with yellow 'caps' on the shoulders with fringe, and 4 gold decorative buttons down the left and right side of said jacket. The jacket back goes around calf-length with a V cut out at the end of the jacket. Her collar is high and decorative with gold inlaid thread along the edges, and on a stripe on her sleeves. Underneath her coat, Akiko wears a t-shirt with a ruffled hem in a pale gold hue. Her knee-length pleated skirt is cream colored with a gold stripe about 2 inches from the bottom of the skirt and she wears black tights, and brown knee-length lace up boots. Peeking up over her left shoulder lays the sheath that holds her naginata which she carries everywhere with her in order to protect herself when she's off-duty (Just in case..can never be too careful).. She also has a katana resting at her left hip. When she is sick, or if it's her days off, Akiko will wear an off the shoulder black long sleeved shirt, a black skirt, black tights and grey kitten heels (and her coat) with her hair up in a bun. She has other outfits, ranging in skirts, t-shirts, long sleeved shirts, all in muted, soft, pastel (or dark) hues. On formal occasions she wears a floor-length elegant plum long-sleeved off the shoulder dress with low kitten heels. Her hair is usually in it’s usual style with this outfit, but with a pearl circlet with a small purple star in the center around her head. Generally she wears light make up with this. HOBBIES When Akiko gets time to herself she enjoys quieter activities such as gaming or reading a good book, drawing and painting. Preferring the quieter side of things, she will also on occasion meditate in order to clear her head. HABITS Bad Habits: Not overly talkative, does not trust easily, very cautious, stubborn. Good Habits: Tidy, Orderly. PERSONALITY Akiko is somewhat quiet and soft spoken. She's not shy, she just doesn't like speaking too much. She has mild PTSD due to her past. As one of the younger daughters in the Onyx family, much is put upon her and she is very uncertain at the best of times about who she is and what her true purpose is in life. She respects and follows her family code, but mentally questions some of their methods at times. She isn't one to question orders, more like she gives them to the squad she commands. She's very orderly and organized, her room kept very clean and tidy and everything in its place. Akiko is not very hotheaded, and puts off an air of ever being calm and at times comes off as emotionless. She is well spoken and educated, eloquent in her speech and graceful in her movements, Akiko has this unsettling calm at times. It puts people off, and unsettles them to the point where they'll avoid her. She isn't cold or emotionless, she just doesn't know how to convey her emotions and is very uncertain of herself at times if she's saying the right thing or not. Akiko can be stubborn at times, so much so that she will not back down even if her family warns her to stop, she’ll say she’s fine, but really she’s not. Akiko is also determined to prove herself to her family that she can be a proper member and fight when the time calls for it. On occasion a small smile will appear on her lips if she's not really thinking about it. She keeps a lot in, preferring to not allow people to worry about her. However, she is more than capable of love. But the girl has so many walls, it's nearly impossible to get past them, though the person that can get through all those walls will be someone Akiko will give her heart to. Akiko gets ill quite a bit, and it can at times affect her if she pushes herself way too hard. Such as fighting too hard, or using her abilities (in senshi form) too much. She will get weak and her vision will blur. If she refuses to back down or stop what she’s doing, she will faint. HISTORY The years before Tomoe Li-Onyx adopted Akiko Tomoe when she was fourteen years old is still very strong in her mind. Before the patriarch of the Onyx clan came a calling, Akiko was a mildly neglected child left to her own devices. She was originally living in Japan with her family. Her childhood was relatively happy, filled with laughter and love. At the age of 6 years old, her parents died due to a terrible illness that lingered on in Akiko herself just enough that strenuous activity brought about her feeling ill, and weak if she pushes herself far too hard. She was adopted out by her brother’s brother who had no bloody idea what to do with her. He left her mostly to her own devices and kept her simply clothed and fed. At 8 years old the elderly neighbor that had taken care of her died. At 8 years old, Akiko stopped talking completely due to the elderly neighbor dying. and started putting walls up to prevent anyone from hurting her again, she became eerily calm and silent. Her uncle adopted another girl, a more active and upbeat one, and had to go away for a while. Ioz Li-Onyx was hired to babysit her and he took her to school and after school/weekend activities and bonded rather strongly with her. After a month, Ioz left but continued to communicate with her via letters. Time passed and her uncle and the new girl kept taking trips to places and Ioz kept having to come and take care of her. At 14 years old, Ioz showed up with Tomoe Li and they requested that she come and live with them. She was unknowingly betrothed to someone in the family. Having no experience with English, Akiko wasn't sure if she could trust Tomoe ,as he looked..strange to her. However he seemed genuine and kind enough but it took at least a month for him to fully convince her (with Ioz’s help) that she wasn't in any real danger and was coming into a good family. One of her favorite people of all time in the Onyx family is Ioz. He has become a sort of mentor to her, a senpai to her, someone to look up to. She likes Ioz quite a bit, so much so that it has gotten to the point of a crush and she gets jealous when others flirt with him (however she hides it as best she can, though she will glare daggers from whomever is flirting with him.) During her time in school, Akiko kept a steady B+ average. Her favorite classes being art and history. She wasn’t entirely fond of Home ec or Math class but did her best anyway despite her dislike of the two subjects. When it came to the training she wasn’t overly fond of it, but she wanted to be a functioning member of the clan so she sucked it up and went with it. However there were times that she’d push herself way too hard in the sessions despite others telling her to stop because she was panting so hard and wavering on her very feet. Ready to faint as she was, she refused to stop, wanting to push herself as hard as she could so she could prove she wasn’t some pale, skinny weakling and that she could actually fight and defend her family when needed. Through the training she learned to be very proficient with polearms (naginata being her utter favorite or a good spear due to the reaching distance) and katana. Eventually, her stamina started to go up a little bit but she’d still fight until she could fight no longer (or had to be forcibly stopped by one of her family members so she wouldn’t overdo it and faint, which usually meant her literally getting pulled out of the room/area so she could cool down.) Akiko has proven herself to be an invaluable member of the Onyx family. Therefore she has been graciously given a small squad unit in which she commands. She loves this position, because it keeps her busy and her mind off of anything else and just in that mindset where she can partially blank out and focus on the situations at hand and help keep the peace. One of Akiko’s favorite past times (when she’s not working with her unit) is to read, or meditate, or draw due to her love of art. She paints mostly still life, city scapes, landscapes, that sort of thing and sells them in a small local gallery located near where she lives. Due to taking art in school, she has continued with it all too happily, finding it an outlet when she can’t properly express herself in words. There are some paintings that she keeps to herself, that she won’t show to anyone and are hidden in her closet at home. They’re not very big (around 5 inches by 5 inches) and have portraits of her family on them, the way she sees them. There is a small abundance of a certain person that will not be named here that has had a large impact on her life that she paints whenever she’s feeling down and painting that certain person cheers her up. Akiko’s current goals are to simply live (she’s only 20 after all!!!). She doesn’t have any real long term goals really except to be happy and as healthy as she can be. She does hope to be a bride one day to someone she loves dearly but she has so much life to live before that, so she’s content simply living for the time being and being around her family and loved ones. Honestly, she’s still figuring who she is right now and wants to focus on bettering herself before she makes any real long term goals. Her very best friend, is, of course Ioz. She’s very close to him and considers him her best friend and someone to look to if she needs help or advice. Her worst enemy, however is a girl that is constantly flirting with her friend and crush. She doesn’t say anything on the matter, preferring to silently glare from across the room and put off that vibe of ‘get away from him or so help me you’ll regret it.’ One of Akiko’s most prized possessions is the letters Ioz sent her when she was younger. She keeps them in a locked steel box in a false drawer in her dresser. Another prized possession she has is her red silk flower hair pin she wears even with her uniform that Ioz got for her about a year after they first met for her 10th birthday. She has kept these two items very close to her and they both have high sentimental value to her and she would be utterly devastated if she lost either the flower or the letters. (Seriously, losing either of them would break her). Akiko is quite open minded about the supernatural/occult stuff, she knows some practice it/believe in it and she is fine with it as long as someone doesn’t push it on her. She is not into it herself persay but she does not bash/ hate on others for their beliefs. She’s a very open minded, accepting sort of person. With the magical royalty search, she’s not sure on the matter, but believes there’s a possibility that things she cannot understand exist. Akiko does believe there are monsters in the world, but has never seen one for herself. Again, she is very open-minded to these sorts of things, preferring to keep a ‘there is a possibility this, or that could exist’ mindset and quietly curious about such matters but doesn’t voice them openly.
