Q: Is plague fears a huge deal?
A: No, while sickness and disease are a "new" thing to have to deal with, people have had over 100 years to come to grips with the new introduction of sickness and disease. There's a plague once every ten or so years that does some damage to populations, but it's handled in a fairly organized, and safe manner without too much panicking.
Q: Feelings on Explosives, such as smoke bombs, actual bombs, etc?
A: the population, for the most part, doesn't like bombs. While there are few alive who remember the actual crystal age (It's been 1200 years or so, and people had a longer life span of 700-500 years, so it's at best the second generation who's PARENTS remembered the ice age...) Bombs, nuclear warfare and other weapons of mass destruction were the reason the ice age happened. As a result most explosions are more likely to trigger a panicked populace then a plague. Even something as innocent as a smoke bomb would trigger fear in much of the older parts of the populace.
Q: What causes Chaos Taint?
A: Without getting too much into the moral gooeyness of the Sailor Moon World (vs our own vs western culture/ eastern culture differences...) Chaos taint is something that really occurs when an outside force finds a weakness in someone's personality and exploits it. So while your character may be a thief it's still a choice-- until you are hit with a chaos attack, a youma curls up under your bed and starts whispering... and that's when you know your in trouble.
Chaos ultimately exploits and plays upon the weaknesses of a human heart- and really that can be a good emotion or a bad emotion... However some acts, like killing, attract the forces of CHAOS a lot faster to your location.
Q: What does Chaos taint do?
A: Like all good evils it can begin in various subtle ways, little "whispers" encouraging your character down the unwise path or choice, or just increased feelings of agitation (just imagine someone constantly poking you while your working on something important--even if you don't snap at the thing poking your still irritated and might take it out on the unsuspecting person who just walks by at the wrong time. The longer a chaos taint goes on the greater the effects, including "black out" periods where your character does something-- and can't remember doing it.
Chaos is Very Bad.
